The Rug Studio can create a rug in any shape. Rectangular, square, round, or oval rugs are the typical shapes you’ll find in any carpet store in London, Brussels, Kyiv, Odessa, Kharkov, Dnipro, or Lvov. But did you know that rugs can also be triangular, octagonal, in the shape of a rose or a crescent moon? Any shape is possible! Rugs can have straight or uneven edges, with standard or non-standard, regular or irregular shapes. One popular option is a U-shaped rug for the bedroom, which goes around the bed. In this case, there’s no rug under the bed—just around it—giving the impression that the bed is on a large, solid rug. And the price of our rugs is based on the actual area of the rug, so you don’t pay for the space under the bed, as there is none! When ordering a round rug, the cost is calculated by the area of the circle, not as a square like other manufacturers do. An oval rug is priced based on the oval area, not the rectangle it fits into, and so on. A rug with a complex shape, made exactly to your dimensions, will highlight the uniqueness and individuality of your entire interior design.  

Our Rug Studio can create rugs in any size, from small mats for your bathroom or toilet to large rugs for your living room, conference room, hotel lobby, gym, or executive office. Our designers will take precise measurements of your space and create a rug sketch based on the room’s dimensions and the placement of your furniture. To ensure the correct design and shape of the rug, we will consider factors such as the direction and height of door openings above the floor, the distance between the floor and the drawers of cabinets, and other details that influence the rug’s shape, texture, and pattern.

Our rugs can be produced in three main textures, depending on the type of rug loops. Just as music is made from only seven notes, we can create masterpieces using three rug textures (types of loops) and varying pile heights. The overall texture of the rug depends on the type of loop used. 

The most common texture is the cut loop in the shape of the letter V (V-tuft). This gives the rug a smooth, even surface. The cut pile is achieved through hand trimming with a machine that has rotary blades. The height of the cut loop can range from 12 to 40 mm. These rugs are often referred to as “cut pile rugs” or simply “cut rugs.”

The next texture is the uncut loop (bouclé). The rug’s surface is made up of many small loops closely packed together. The height of these loops can vary from 10 to 40 mm. Recently, bouclé loop rugs with hand trimming have become popular in Europe.

 The third texture is high-pile or shaggy, also known as “noodles.” The loops in this texture are shaped like the letter J (J-tuft). This pile can be up to 80 mm high. This type of rug has a thick and springy pile, which feels very pleasant underfoot and is mainly used in bedrooms or areas where people walk barefoot.

Thanks to the high density of our rugs, only our products allow for hand-carved, sculpted designs. Carving the rug gives the pattern a three-dimensional, multi-level sculptural effect. A rug with hand carving and different pile heights is often called a sculpted or bas-relief rug. The play of shadows and shades on its sculpted surface is truly impressive. The high density of our rug’s pile ensures that the carved pattern maintains its shape and appearance throughout the rug’s lifespan. A VIP rug without carving is like a Mercedes with manual windows.  

At CARPET STUDIO, we use only the finest natural English wool yarn, blended with New Zealand sheep wool from the most ecologically clean areas of the Earth. The yarn is spun, dyed, and processed in the United Kingdom! The craft of industrial wool yarn production and dyeing has been passed down through generations of English masters for centuries. English wool has a well-deserved reputation for being of the highest quality worldwide. Our palette includes more than 300 colors and shades of English wool carpet yarn. It is also possible to order yarn in the exact color you need according to British Chromotone carpet yarn standards. Rug Studio does not use any Indian, Chinese, or Afghan wool in its production!
