MANUFACTURING AND SERVICES

It’s not enough to sketch the future rug, fully develop its design, bring all rug elements to the technical capabilities of its production, but also to have the ability to make the rug strictly according to the customer’s requirements. We have this capability! The Carpet Studio has its own production for the manufacture of exclusive handmade designer rugs using the hand tufting method. We provide a full range of services for rug design development, bringing it to the technological capabilities of our production, selection of shades of British yarn both directly in our studio-shops and remotely. After placing an order for rug production, the drawing of the future rug is transferred to our workshop for its manufacture. Rugs are made on huge vertical frames with fabric stretched like a drum for rug production.

And although the process itself is partially automated – the gun automatically inserts and cuts the thread, it is important not to forget about the masters who control the rug manufacturing process. Their extensive experience in rug production, quality German equipment, and the use of only British wool – are the main conditions for the high quality of our rugs. After the tufting process (stuffing wool into the fabric of the rug) and its latexing, the rug goes through “carving”, where the rug edges are processed, it is polished, shaped and volumetrically trimmed, mixing of colours, and all final rug manufacturing processes, including rug packaging for transportation.

The Carpet Studio also provides additional services for delivering our rugs, their installation (laying), including the most complex ones (gripper laying and others). We also provide warranty and post-warranty service, restoration, and repair of our rugs. We offer professional rug cleaning services with simultaneous restoration. We perform deep rug cleaning on modern American equipment with partial destruction of the top layer of the rug and its subsequent polishing, and full restoration. Even in the case of serious rug damage, it is not worth taking it to the landfill right away! Our rugs are repairable, unlike factory-made ones, as each rug loop is independent of other loops. And even in the most complex cases of rug damage, we can restore the rug by removing damaged rug loops from the base and manually replacing them with new ones of the same colour!

HAND TUFTING TECHNOLOGY

At Rug Studio, we create carpets using the hand-tufting method. This technique allows us to produce different types of rugs: cut pile, loop pile, and long-pile (shaggy) rugs. These types of rugs vary based on the characteristics of the loop and the height of the pile. The pile height of our rugs can reach up to 8 centimeters.

In a single rug, all types of loops can be combined, giving the rug a distinctive and unique appearance.

CUT PILE PUG

The pile loops of a cut pile rug are trimmed with even edges, meaning both sides of the loop are of the same height. This is why it’s referred to as a V-tuft. The pile height of such a rug (essentially the thickness of the rug) ranges from 12 to 45 mm, with the base adding about 2 mm in thickness (this applies to any rug).

After the tufting process is complete, the rug is polished with special rotary blades, and artistic trimming can be applied. The cut pile rug is the most popular type and the only one where artistic trimming can be used. This technique highlights decorative elements of the rug, giving it extra dimension and a sculptural quality. We also combine different pile heights to create a multi-level, sculptural rug. A sculptural or relief rug, handcrafted with our Hand Tuft method, offers a unique experience that is truly incomparable. But it’s better to see and feel the rug in person than to hear about it multiple times. Even better—walk on it… Your vision, combined with the creativity of our designers and modern technology, results in more than just a rug; it’s a true work of art! A sculptural or relief carpet looks simply stunning!

LONG PILE RUG

The pile loops of a long pile rug are cut with uneven edges, meaning the sides of the loop are of different heights. This type of pile is known as J-tuft. The pile height for this rug can be up to 80 mm. The shorter half of the loop forms what is called an undercoat.

This creates an impressive effect. The top of the rug is truly “shaggy,” while deeper down, closer to the base, the pile is dense. When you step on the rug, you first feel its cozy softness, followed by its firmness. These rugs are very fluffy, soft, and comfortable, making them ideal for a bedroom where you can practically “sink” into them.

LOOP PILE RUG

This type of rug features uncut, continuous loops. The pile height ranges from 10 to 45 mm. Bouclé loops are often used as an element in cut pile rugs, adding extra depth and dimension. If all the loops are the same height, you get a single-level loop pile rug, which is ideal for offices and other high-traffic areas. Uncut loops are especially resistant to wear and tear.

Overall, a loop pile rug is durable and maintains a quality appearance if the pile height and density are well balanced. It can withstand heavy use in high-traffic areas. If the loops are made at different heights, the result is a multi-level loop pile rug with a textured, sculpted pattern, creating a rich and attractive look.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES

Delivery and Installation
Carpet Studio also provides delivery and installation services for our carpets. We understand how to properly lay a carpet around a bed or a billiard table without disassembling it. We know the right way to install a carpet “from baseboard to baseboard” and how to lay and secure a carpet in rooms with challenging temperature and humidity conditions, among many other things. We can also offer gripper installation and on-site trimming of the carpet if needed.

CLEANING AND RESTORATION

Carpet Studio offers professional cleaning services for the carpets we produce. Our modern, powerful American equipment enables deep cleaning of our carpets. Unlike other cleaning services, we are not afraid to use radical cleaning methods that may fluff up the top layer of the carpet’s pile—because after cleaning, we polish and re-shape it. We also offer on-site cleaning at the customer’s location.

And if anything happens to your carpet, we can always restore it to its original appearance.
