This duo of children’s carpets is part of a comprehensive design project for a home in Odesa. The challenge for our designers was to seamlessly combine two different functions in one space: a sleeping area and a play zone for a child. Additionally, the complex geometry of the room—with both internal and external corners—demanded a creative flooring solution.
Two Rugs, One Story: Ocean-Inspired Zoning
We decided to create two separate carpets, unified by both a thematic and visual concept. The ocean shore theme emerged naturally—after all, what little boy in Odesa doesn’t dream of becoming a sea captain and sailing the open waters?
To visually reinforce the concept of a seaside landscape, one of the carpets combines two pile textures: loop pile (bouclé) for pebbles and cut pile for sand. This tactile contrast makes the rug not only engaging but also stimulating for a child’s imagination and senses.

From sketch to final tuft, this is one of our proudest design accomplishments. Our experienced tufters and finishers brought this concept to life, ensuring every wave, pebble, and sea turtle is rendered with precision and warmth.
