Split rug 10 shades of grey is an exclusive project by Carpet Studio, created according to the individual requirements of the client. Its main feature is the combination of complex shape, precise geometry, and thoughtful design, allowing the rug to perfectly follow the contours of the tabletop and bypass the dining table base, which is permanently built into the floor.
10 Shades of Grey in One Rug
The clients chose their favorite color palette – grey in all its diversity: from warm anthracite tones to cool steel shades. With over 300 shades of premium British wool yarn available in stock, we were able to achieve a perfect gradient of 10 shades of grey, creating depth and volume in the design.
Complex Shapes and Precise Geometry
The rug had to not only fit tightly to the table base but also completely repeat the shape of the glass tabletop. Thanks to the experience of Carpet Studio designers and professional pile trimming, we achieved absolute accuracy in size and form.
The Secret of the Split and Hidden Fastening
The most challenging task was to create a split rug that could be easily removed for cleaning while remaining visually seamless in the interior. We introduced an additional perpendicular element under which the split was hidden. For reliability, we used a wide Velcro fastener, and after sewing it in, we performed an additional flat shearing, which eliminated any unevenness and allowed us to achieve a perfectly smooth surface.
