The light beige and gray-blue tones of the walls, textiles, and furniture are echoed in the rug’s color palette. The rug’s hand-cut design mirrors the wallpaper pattern, enhancing the central focal point with its shadow play created by side street lighting.
At the center of the rug, within a classic circular Greek meander, instead of the head of Medusa, there is an image of Athena, the goddess of wisdom and victorious war in ancient Greek mythology.
This depiction matches the sandblasted design on the glass door of the room. Elements of artistic carving found on the room’s furniture are echoed in the rug’s border design.
